4-Methylumbelliferyl tetracosanate,

4-Methylumbelliferyl lignocerate is a synthetic fatty acid that inhibits the growth of cancer cells. It has been shown to have an inhibitory effect on breast cancer cell lines, such as MDA-MB-231 and MCF-7. This compound also inhibits the production of estrogen by binding to the human estrogen receptor (ER) α, which leads to a decrease in cellular proliferation. Another study found that 4-methylumbelliferyl lignocerate conjugates with tamoxifen and inhibits estrogen synthesis in breast cancer cells.
