Methyl 4,6-O-benzylidene-2,3-di-O-(p-toluenesulfonyl)-a-D-glucopyranoside is a custom synthesis that has been modified with fluorination, methylation, and click modification. Methyl 4,6-O-benzylidene-2,3-di-O-(p-toluenesulfonyl)-a -D -glucopyranoside has been shown to have antihyperglycemic properties by inhibiting the action of alpha amylase on starch. This product also inhibits the activity of alpha amylase on glycogen and lactose.
