Undecyl b-D-thiomaltopyranoside is a high purity, custom synthesis, methylated and glycosylated carbohydrate that can be used as a fluorinated sugar. It is an oligosaccharide with 4 glucose units, 1 of which has been modified by the addition of an undecyl group. This modification inhibits the enzyme maltase from hydrolyzing the saccharide.
